Our Client has a requirement for an HSE Officer & Trainer, who will be required to work on a 24-month contract basis in the London area. (There will be sporadic travel to the project site/vessel)

Role Purpose:

  • Develop, organise, and deliver robust Project, Corporate, and Statutory HSE Training programs
  • Lead sophisticated Incident Investigations and Root Cause Analysis
  • Execute the HSE Audit Plan and effectively manage corrective actions
  • Provide hands-on HSE Coaching at the worksite
  • Design and implement impactful Behavioural Safety Initiatives and campaigns
  • Analyze and report on HSE performance trends to drive continuous improvement
  • Support the seamless implementation of Safe Systems of Work
  • Execute detailed Project Risk Assessment schedules
  • Ensure worksite HSE readiness through proactive measures
  • Compile and manage HSE data for informed decision-making
  • Oversee the procurement of essential HSE items

Job Role Responsibilities:

  • Ensure adherence to HSE regulations and best practices within engineering contexts
  • Monitor and enhance HSE performance metrics, identifying and addressing gaps
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary project teams to embed HSE practices in engineering processes
  • Stay ahead of industry developments to foster innovative approaches to safety
  • Mentor and train engineering teams on HSE protocols and regulatory compliance
  • Prepare and deliver comprehensive HSE reports for stakeholders at all levels

Experience / Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of IMCA, IOGP, CDM & HSE ACOPS, especially in engineering settings
  • Availability to rapidly support incident investigations as required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for data analysis
  • Creative thinker with a proactive approach to solving complex HSE challenges
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams
  • Self-driven and collaborative team player committed to HSE excellence
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with confidence in delivering technical training
  • Conflict resolution capabilities in high-stakes environments

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience with an IMCA Contractor in an engineering role preferred
  • NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent required; NEBOSH Diploma or NVQ preferred
  • IOSH Accreditation aligned with professional status preferred
  • OPITO Recognised Offshore Survival Training & Medical Certification (BOSIET or equivalent) preferred
  • Certification in Root Cause Analysis techniques preferred
